DESCRIPTION:
The TRPC Steel Match is an event that tests the participant’s ability to shoot five steel targets as quickly as possible. Targets are round and rectangular steel plates arranged in various configurations.
There is no movement from the shooter’s original firing position. The participant can shoot from a “low-ready” position or draw from a holster. Rimfire rifles and pistol caliber carbines may also be used.
To get the most enjoyment out of the Steel Match, participants should be able to hit a round 9” plate eight out of ten times from 10 yards at slow firing.
Matches and practice sessions usually last a couple hours. Depending on the number of entrants, shooters may have the option of shooting two different guns.
This very safe match is run under the watchful eyes of various Range Officers.
This event is an excellent way to improve shooting accuracy and speed. The match is a fun event with a very friendly and supportive group of participants.
